Pursue your vocation to heal

AMD Welcome

  Anne-Marie Dardis, Director of Admissions

A career as a psychologist is an excellent option for many majors. Whether you’ve earned your undergraduate degree in liberal arts, education or even business, you have a valuable foundation on which to build a vital and sought-after career in the mental health field.

As an IPS-trained practitioner, you’ll be well-prepared to make a difference in our culture. So many people are suffering from the effects of broken marriages, addictions of all kinds, eating disorders, depression and anxiety, or a general lack of meaning in their lives. The need is profound, the call is great.

Are you called to join us?

A campus visit is highly recommended if you’re considering this rewarding vocation to heal. Meeting students and faculty and sitting in on classes are the best ways to experience the mission of IPS. Open Houses are held regularly throughout the year, or combine a campus visit with your admission interviews.

See below for 2012 Application Deadlines for the master’s and doctoral programs.  If you are interested in the Psy.D. degree but do not have a master’s degree in a mental health discipline, you must apply first to our master’s program in Clinical Psychology.  Note that the Psy.D. application process is different for IPS student applicants and external applicants.

Once each application is complete and approved by the Admissions Committee, applicants are invited to interview. Interview sessions are held throughout the school year, and are scheduled through the Admissions Office.

The following items are required for an application to be considered complete:

  • Application form with personal statements. (Click here for form)
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended, each in an official sealed envelope. (International students must submit a comprehensive course-by-course evaluation from an approved service, www.wes.org or www.ece.org.)
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation academic in nature. (Click here for form)
  • Non-refundable $55.00 application fee.
  • GRE scores: General Test scores taken within the past 5 years sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (the IPS school code is 5639).
  • TOEFL scores (for all who do not have English as their first language; IPS code 5639).
Following the Admissions Committee’s approval of the application, you’ll be contacted to schedule an interview.
